U300 Storage Mode to Disk Mode Tool |

Download this tool to change your device to storage mode (to be used as a flash drive) and then back to disk mode for internet connectivity.
Download for Storage/Disk Mode:
To use the U300 device in "disk mode," this disk utility is required. Follow these instructions:
1. Save the disk utility file to your desktop.
2. Extract the files to a designated place on your machine – a folder named 'U300_UMSDSetting APP' will appear.
3. Insert Sprint U300 device into laptop.
4. Open 'U300_UMSDSetting App' folder and double click on 'CMU300_UMSDSetting.exe' file.
5. UMSD Setting Tool software will appear on the desktop.
6. Select 'Start Up' button. The mode of the user's device will appear. In order for customer to access documents saved on the device, user should select 'Disk and Modem' Mode followed by selecting 'Apply'.
7. Once the device is set in 'Disk and Modem Mode', the software indicats 'UMSD Write Success!!!' Select the 'Ok' button.
8. Now go to My Computer to access storage space on device and retrieve documents already stored on device.
9. When you are ready to use the device as a modem again, go back to UMSD Setting Tool software and put the device into 'Modem Only' mode.
10. Remember to hit 'Apply'. If successful you will receive the message, 'UMSD Write Success Message'. Select the 'OK' button.

U300 WiMAX Certificate Update Tool |

Uploads the WiMAX certificate that is required to access Sprint’s 4G network for a limited number of impacted U300 where no WiMAX certificate was loaded.
NOTE: You must have the impacted U300 connected to the computer that has the tool downloaded to it.
Certificate Update Tool steps:
Download .zip package below via an alternative Internet connection.
Insert the impacted U300 device.
Proceed through the installation screens as prompted which will complete and then run "U300 WiMax Certificate Update Tool" automatically.
If your device does not need a certificate update, the tool will display "Your device was already updated".
If you do need a certificate update, you will see a button "Start Certificate Update" which you will need to click.
If your computer is not connected to the internet, this tool will use the U300 to connect to the internet briefly.
Once completed, the tool will display the message "update success".
Once the tool presents the “update success” message it will automatically uninstall from your computer.
Now launch Sprint SmartView 2.27 software, insert your device and you will be able to connect to 4G if you are in a 4G area and have a 4G capable service plan, otherwise your device will connect to 3G.
